I know I need to guard my warehouse racking but what are my options?

There are many options in the marketplace designed to protect your warehouse racking from getting hit and damaged. Whether you’re installing new racking or just experienced an accident that existing racking was damaged, you know that guarding is the right option, but what is the right type? Below you’ll find a few options ranging from economical to very heavy duty guarding depending on what type of equipment you use by the racking or level of protection you require. 

Simple Post Protectors: most economical many sizes

The humble post upright protector is a basic floor mounted guard designed to protect individual upright legs and can be used also at the end of your rows where equipment enters into the aisles. There are many styles and sizes depending on what type of rack you have. There are also bolt on guards that you simply fasten to the leg to add more strength.

Corner Column Protectors: economical and versatile 

The Corner Column Protector (CCP) is a guard designed to go at the end of the aisles and can be found in heights ranging from 12″ to 42″ tall. Their quarter circle design allows you to install them in the perfect spot to protect from equipment driving into your rack aisles. This shape is very strong and also can be used in doorways or at wall corners.

Standard and Heavy Duty Rack Protectors: The most popular and best balance of value and protection value

The standard and heavy duty rack protectors, (RP’s) are the most common option for end of aisle protection, and for good reason. They strike a perfect balance of cost effectiveness and impact protection value. Both styles are anchored to the floor with heavy duty 3/4″ wedge anchors.The combination of the 12” half moon and 6” tall angle leg work perfectly to guard the outside rack leg and along the full depth of the rack frame. The standard duty 1/4” thick guards provide good impact protection at a great price. The heavy duty 3/8″ guards can take some serious punishment without budging or bending.

Single or Double High Guard Railing: Strongest protection value, taller available option (43″ double rail)

Warehouse guard railing is another great option for end of aisle protection. Often used when you need something very tough or if you have very tight aisles, you can custom size the rails if needed to stay as close to your frame width as needed. Heavy Duty Guard rail is tested to withstand impacts of 10,000lbs at 4 mph so using this at the end of your rows gives you the most available stopping power to prevent impact with the frame.
